Payment Instructions

General instructions for international payments to banks in TURKIYE: To make a cross-border payment to Turkey, obtain all required bank information from the Beneficiary, such as SWIFT BIC, IBAN, and the beneficiary bank address. Note that banks in Turkey usually do not accept payments for beneficiaries without accounts. Ensure to include the account number, full name (without initials), and address of both the ordering and beneficiary customers in payment instructions (SWIFT MT103 F50 & F59). The IBAN must be included, and the purpose of payment should be stated (SWIFT MT103 F70). Ensure the SWIFT BIC uses the format xxxxTRxx or xxxxTRxxxxx. Note that banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

IBAN: In Turkey, the IBAN consists of 26 alphanumeric characters. The structure is TR2!n5!n1!c16!c, and an example electronic format is TR987123456789123456789123. The first two characters are the country code 'TR', followed by a two-digit check number and the Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN).

Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) contain the list of correspondent banks of TURK EKONOMI BANKASI A.S. for each currency.
